Methylation Panel Saliva Test
The Methylation Panel measures relevant genetic variations that can affect methylation and key nutrients to determine the status of methylation in the body and if it is inhibited by genetic abnormalities. Key Details
- Review your kit - When you receive the test kit in the mail, review its contents, and read through the information provided with the kit.
- This is a salivary (saliva) collection kit that you will collect for at home.
- Do not brush your teeth, eat, or drink anything but water for 2-3 hours before each saliva sample collection.
- Ship samples back to the lab as soon as possible.
Preparation & Timing
- No eating a major meal within 60 minutes of sample collection.
- Avoid foods with high sugar or acidity, or high caffeine content, immediately before sample collection
- Rinse mouth with water to remove food residue and waiting at least 10 minutes after rinsing to avoid sample dilution before collecting saliva.
- Passive drool - allowing saliva to naturally pool in mouth and then spit. Repeat this process to fill required saliva. Do not simulate saliva collection.
